Pics of the Week: #37 Felix

Hello there PHOTOCRAVERS. This week’s post is a collection of two weeks worth of photos from the group on Flickr, since I totally missed putting it together last week. We all have those weeks RIGHT? In addition to my favorite “Pics” there are a few links and videos I thought I would share.

But FIRST, lets get to our featured photographer of the week…

Anthony Ryan Tripoli aka artripoli (www.artripoli.com) is part of a photo team called Thrashonistas (www.thrashonistas.com) with Jasmine S. Garcia (www.jasminescrafty.com). They are currently living in Columbia, MO but will be moving in two weeks to Las Vegas, NV. The team primarily shoots editorial/commercial portraiture and lifestyle but we have been getting more and more into fashion photography as well as of late.  Check out their work on flickr and be sure to say hello.

They kick off this weeks “Pics of the Week” with Felix… ENJOY

Pics of the Week #36: Q&A with LokoTripper

Hey PHOTOCRAVERS, I trust you had a good week. I missed our “Pics of the Week” feature last week so we have a nice long collection below. There were SO many quality photos, that a lot of great images were left out. If your image did not get in the post, please continue to add your best photos and I will get them in a future collection.

This week we have a special Q&A with PHOTOCRAVE member LokoTripper. He has been a longtime contributor to the group and I recently sent him a few questions to get to know him better. I think you will see he has a very unique style and displays an interesting boldness through his imagry.  The featured image above is one of my all time favorites of his. Here is our Q&A..

Pics of the Week #35

I hope this week’s Pics of the Week collection (#35) finds you well. A big thanks to all of you whom contributed your photos in the group pool. I had a lot of great images to pick through. A question was raised in a LinkedIn forum this past week about permissions. It was a great question and I want to clarify it for everyone:

“Do you have the permission of the owners to repost their images? No one is credited.”

My answer: Yes. All images included in this weekly post are taken directly from my group on Flickr. My group description clearly states that by adding your image you give me permission to post the image here on this site. As far as the credited part – while I dont type in each contributor, each image is linked back to the original image on Flickr. I utilize Flickr’s share feature to repost the images. None of the images are copied, but rather linked to. SO if anyone would rather the image not be shared on this site (or any others) they may revoke privleges and the image will no longer show.

I hope that clears up the question. I NEVER want to ever steal another photographers work. And always want to give credit where it is due. This is another reason why I am choosing one contributor per week to feature so we may grow as a community together. Please take a moment each week to share this blog post, as well as follow the featured photographer. Speaking of which…

This week’s featured photographer is  Alberto Carretero from Spain (username Erkua), a long time contributor to Pics of the Week. I love his self portrait show above. Take a moment to find his Flickr photo stream here, read his blog, find him on facebook, and chat with him on twitter. You can also find 10 funky facts about Alberto here.

And here are our Pics of the Week (#35). Please comment your favorites and share this post.
